Today, the Kenyan Ambassador to Italy H.E. Fredrick Matwang’a visited Kenyan exporters participating in the ongoing MACFRUT 2025 exhibition in Rimini Italy.
Present at the event were the Chairman AFA – Hon. Cornelly Serem and the Director Horticultural Crops Directorate – Christine Chesaro.
H.E the Ambassador affirmed his commitment in supporting the sector to enhance the range of fresh products exported to Italy. The Chairman AFA emphasized the need for exporters to ensure that they export products that meet the quality standards of the European Market.
In 2024, Kenya exported fresh produce valued at Ksh. 136 Billion. The support for Kenyan exporters to participate in international exhibitions is in line with the Authority’s strategy to enhance market access and increase Kenya’s horticultural export volumes to Italy and other European countries, thereby increasing foreign income and earnings to farmers.
