The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) hosted a two-day Cassava Value Chain Exhibition at the Malanga Aggregation Centre, Chamlala, Kilifi County, on 7th–8th May 2025.
Themed “Unlocking Wealth Through Value Addition Technologies,” the exhibition sought to empower cassava farmers, processors, and other stakeholders with the knowledge, tools, and technologies required to maximise the value of cassava along the entire value chain.
The Deputy Director of the AFA Food Crops Directorate, Patrick Kirimi, highlighted the Authority’s commitment to supporting farmers through improved access to markets, clean planting materials, and modern processing techniques that enhance food security and increase household incomes.
The exhibition featured practical demonstrations of cassava value addition processes, including flour production and starch extraction, and will provide a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing local success stories.
