The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) today participated in the 2nd Annual National Farmers End-Year Celebrations and Awards held at Kiprugut Chumo Stadium, Kericho County, a national forum dedicated to recognizing excellence, innovation, and resilience among Kenya’s farmers and agribusiness value chain actors.
The high-profile event was officiated by Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, and graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for Agriculture Development, Dr. Paul Kipronoh Ronoh, AFA Director General Dr. Bruno Linyiru, OGW, MBS, alongside other national and county leaders.

The celebrations highlighted the critical role played by farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, and agricultural institutions in advancing food security, value addition, and sustainable agricultural growth across the country. Through the awards, outstanding contributors to the agricultural sector were acknowledged for their impact, innovation, and commitment to strengthening Kenya’s food systems.
AFA’s participation underscored the Authority’s commitment to supporting farmer-led transformation, promoting competitive agricultural value chains, and aligning sector growth with the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which places farmers and agribusinesses at the center of national development.
