The overall objective of the Regulations and Compliance Department is to ensure adherence to the nuts & oil crops standards, the industry code of practice, and the Crops (Nuts & Oil Crops) Regulations 2020.

Functions of R&C
- Facilitate development and review of policy and regulatory framework for the Nuts & oil crops industry;
- Undertake registration, inspection and licensing of Nursery operators, Traders, Processors, Exporters and other relevant dealers.
- Maintain a register of all players in the industry
- Enforce compliance with the Nuts & oil crops industry standards and regulations through inspections and surveillance.
- Undertake capacity building of county governments on licensing, Nuts & oil crops industry standards, and the industry code of practice;
- Inspection of Nuts & oil crops imports or exports for compliance with national, regional and international standards;
- Ensure harmony within the Nuts & oil crops industry through the arbitration of disputes.
